Addicted to Alcohol? Four Ways to Tell
How can you tell if you’re addicted to alcohol? Read on for more details!
1) Can you stop after one?
This is the test of whether you can limit your drinking. If you can’t limit your drinking – that is to say drink just one – there is a good chance you may be an alcoholic. Alcoholism will cause you to crave more so that one small bottle doesn’t seem like enough. This in itself is a warning sign.
2) Do you need a drink to get up to normal?
When you wake up do you have a general feeling that you need to have a drink to actually feel normal? Do you feel like you’ll need a beer or two just to get up to ordinary normal standard? If so, it would be a good idea to see a doctor or a therapist, because this is an indicator that you may well be addicted.
3) Do you feel your day is incomplete without a drink?
Do you feel like you’ve missed something if you can make it to bedtime without a drink? Do you feel a craving for alcohol? It’s wise for you to see a therapist in this case, because you’re probably addicted.
4) Do you need more and more alcohol to feel the buzz?
To get that nice tipsy feeling, does your body require more and more alcohol? What I mean is, if your body needed 3 bottles of beer last week for you to get the desired feeling, and now it requires 4 or 5 to get the same buzz, your body is growing tolerant to the alcohol, and this is an indicator or a symptom that you are addicted to alcohol!
