Quit Smoking for Good: Take Back Your Power
This page describes how blessed I was to find a great, nontoxic way to quit smoking. I didn’t have to continue to put nicotine or any other medication in my body. I quit cold turkey without physical or mental withdrawals. It works.

Okay, so if you are reading this you are struggling with trying to find the right way to quit smoking! There are so many different choices, you can use nicotine replacement, prescription medicine, you can go to acupuncture, there is now even laser services to help you quit!
Let me tell you, I like many of you had tried each and every one of these options, always with little or no success. Maybe I would quit for a couple of days, but each time my old friend, a cigarette, would come creeping back and needing me to pay attention to it. Once it was in my mind it was unrelenting until I finally gave in and picked up my beloved friend and tasted it’s smoke coursing through my body.
You always hear people say that until you are ready to quit you will not be successful. I heard that so many times and kept thinking that I just wasn’t ready because I could never be successful. Now that I have found the best quitting exercise I know that that isn’t true. First of all don’t listen to everyone, listen to yourself, you can do this!
I quit completely, cold turkey by doing a couple of things….
I went to a WONDERFUL hypnotist! Sounds funky? Well, just think about it for a minute, hypnotherapy focuses on making suggestions to your subconscious mind. Wouldn’t it make sense then that by changing your subconscious mind that they could change that desire that comes from a habit that is no longer controlled by your consciousness? It’s easy, relatively inexpensive, especially when you compare it to the cost of cigarettes these days.
After I left the hypnotist I went to the store and bought a lot of foods and drinks that made me FEEL healthy. Making healthier choices in the supermarket supported my decision to be healthier by quitting smoking.
And the last thing I did was completely opposite of what many people preach about quitting. I did not have a plan to keep myself occupied. I didn’t stock up on carrots and celery sticks, I didn’t wear a rubberband around my wrist to snap when I wanted a cigarette. I TRUSTED that this was going to work, I PRAYED to my Saviour, Jesus Christ and asked for His mercy and grace and ultimately I let it go. By not making a huge deal out of it, not counting how many minutes, days or weeks I was smoke free I didn’t give even the act of quitting smoking to have power over me! I took my power back, by virtually paying no attention to the fact that I had just quit. Make sense? The more you focus on the act of quitting, the more power you give to it and in return it makes it more difficult.
Did I have physical withdrawals? No, not really. I was tired for a couple of days, but I never physically craved a cigarette. Did I want a cigarette? No I didn’t, every once in a while it would pass through my mind, but by the time it registered the thought was already gone. It was bizarre, but there was never a desire to pick up a cigarette. And most importantly, I did not gain ANY weight!
I am happy to say that I am now 5 years smoke free! It’s wonderful and before I tried this I never thought that I would be successful at quitting.
If you take nothing else from this sight, please do not let cigarettes have all the power over you. You will never feel as good as when you realize that you are in control and you have taken your power back!
Blessings to you and take your power back! I promise. You can do it!
