Quitting Smoking: Nicotine Replacement Therapy

Here is a very good way that will really help you quit smoking. It’s worth reading about because it may just be for you and you might want to give it a try.

Do you want to quit smoking but don’t know how to go about doing it? Are you afraid you have super bad withdrawal symptoms? Here is a relatively easy way to give up smoking called Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) for this article.

NRTs are a product that gives your body nicotine when you need it while trying to quit smoking. They do have nicotine in them, but that is still better than a cigarette which has tar and carbon monoxide in it, two things which are very bad for your health, not saying nicotine is good for you. Heavens no! The NRT takes the place of cigarettes and come in many forms such as patches that you put on your skin that gives you a constant stream of nicotine and make sure never to put more than one on as nicotine can be dangerous and never, ever smoke with a nicotine replacement therapy as it can be very dangerous.

These aren’t as pleasing as a cigarette for those who smoke, but at least they don’t have as many poisons as cigarettes have.

Other forms such as gum, nasal spray, lozenges, tablets and inhalers.

Some names go by names such as Commit, Habitrol, Nicoderm, Nicorette, Nicotrol, and Thrive.

These may not give you as much pleasure as a cigarette and they will not completely get rid of your withdrawal symptoms and if you are a heavier somoker take a NRT with more nicotine or you may not succeed giving up the smoking habit.

All the different forms of nicotine replacement therapy help smokers quit and no form is better than another form.

Noicotine replacement therapy doubles the chance you’ll quit. If you use other forms of quitting smoking like counseling or prescription medication, chances are it is going to be NRT that helps you quit.

When you use this method do exactly as directions tell you and NEVER smoke as it can be very dangerous.
