Start the Anti-smoking Habit

You have repeatedly sworn to yourself that “this day will be my last day of smoking.”  The next thing you know, your last day seems so endless. The American Cancer Society recommend you try following these steps; they just might work this time:

Six-step preparation for your “quit day”

1. Pick a date and mark it on your calendar.
2. Tell friends and family of your quit day.
3. When you feel the urge to smoke, try substituting sugarless gum, cinnamon sticks, carrot sticks or hard candy.
4. Decide on a plan. Will you use nicotine replacement therapy? Will you attend a smoking cessation class? If so , sign up now.
5. Practice saying “No thank you, I don’t smoke.”
6. Set up a support system. This could be a group class or a friend who has successfully quit and is willing to help you.

  19. I stopped smoking over 30yrs ago and glad I did. I stopped on my wedding day, just like that; 10 minutes to 3pm 2nd June 1979. I never looked back, nor put on weight and the craving was not so bad.
I saved a lot of money and furnished our new home with it.
