Useful Numbers and Addresses for Those Residing in The UK
Alcohol and petty crimes, Don’t despair there is always somebody out there that cares and supports.
During the current economical climate with more, and more people out of work, there is a huge rise in social problems with alcohol abuse, and petty crime. In this piece, I would like to highlight some useful addresses/telephone numbers for those who are aware of their problems, and are not in a state of denial:
Drinkline
Tel: 0345 32 02 02
Drinkline offers advice, information, and support to anyone concerned about their own, or someone else’s drinking habits.
Alcoholics Anonymous -
Alcoholics Anonymous, General Service Office, PO Box1, Stonebow House, Stonebow, York, YO1 2NJ.
Tel: 01904 644026 Help line: 0171352 3001
There are AA groups country wide, and their goal is to achieve total abstinence based on staying away from one drink, one day at a time.
National Debtline -
Tel: 0645 500 511
National Debtline provides help for anyone in debt, or concerned they may fall into debt.
For those who are in despair and feeling suicidal because of the unacceptable situation that they find themselves in, there is always the Samaritans. The Samaritans provide a 24-hour a day confidential service. You can locate your nearest local group in the telephone directory under ‘Samaritans’, or contact 118 118.
Without being too intrusive, I hope that the above information will prove of use to somebody out there.
God Bless

I read with interest in the event I become an ex-patriot which, with the way things are going here, might not be a bad idea.
