Why Line The Pockets of Dealers When There’s a Legal Alternative to Cannabis

Buying the legal alternative to cannabis or marijuana from a registered company greatly reduces the chance of young people coming into contact with harder drugs. It also takes the money out of the hands of the illegal street-dealers.

Cannabis has been used for relaxation and meditation purposes for many thousands of years, and studies carried out today tell us the number of users is rising. Young people especially seem to be attracted to experimenting with mind-altering drugs, such as cannabis, and this can result in abuse, addiction, mental health problems, and prosecution. While cannabis itself is not physically addictive it can be dangerous for those with mental health issues and is often supplied by dealers who also have access to harder, highly addictive drugs. Users can be tempted to try these more dangerous substances when the opportunity arises.

In most countries using cannabis is illegal, but many of today’s parents will have smoked cannabis as youngsters and, as a consequence, aren’t too worried about their children experimenting. However, I’m sure they’d be far more concerned if they thought they were being offered harder drugs, such as heroin, meth, or crack-cocaine.

If you smoke cannabis you might be quite annoyed to be classed as a drug-user and criminal when all you’re guilty of is smoking a relatively harmless substance, in the privacy of your home, with no more negative consequences for you personally than would be caused by drinking perfectly legal alcohol. You might not want to hand your money over to someone you suspect of selling to young people or who might also supply much harder drugs, because the social implications may concern you.

Well, there may just be an herbal alternative – at least, for those of you in the US (anyone outside the US will need to check the import laws in their own country before ordering). I recently discovered the website run by a company called Marijuana Alternatives, supplying a large range of legal, herbal, smoking products, most of which are similar to cannabis. This is a registered company that pays it’s taxes and doesn’t encourage the use of illegal substances or harder drugs. A link is provided at the bottom of the page.

If you have tried any of these alternative products please feel free to comment on the quality and whether or not you feel they are similar to proper cannabis.

  1. My friend bought a big bag of fake stuff on the internet, said all it did was make him dizzy. Nothing at all like the real thing; but maybe there is something else out there. Or hey, just go to California and get a prescription!

  2. Here in the UK they have reclassified it as a class B drug, after reducing it to a class C for a couple of years. It’s odd that the US and the UK see things so differently, when much of our culture is the same. I’m not even sure the UK would allow the import of the legal alternatives, because of the chemicals they contain.
    Thanks for your comment!

  3. To each his own!

  4. What can I say? I’ve been a beer drinker for years. Lucky for me, beer is legal.

  5. @Guy Hogan – It is fortunate for you. I suffer from IBS and coeliac disease so I can’t drink alcohol, at all. I also have a huge problem with herbal remedies and natural sleeping tablets, for the same reason. I wish the UK had a website like the one I gave a link to – I’d certainly give the stuff a try.

  6. Wow, I’ve never known that to be honest! Like you said, I did know about Cannabis getting reclassified but wow, I personally have avoided drugs all my life as have my parents so this is something new for me. Good informative article.

  7. The best legal alternative to marijuana are synthetic cannabinoids, such as JWH-018. These chemicals were designed to mimic the effect THC and other natural cannabinoids have on our cannabinoid receptors, CB1 & CB2. Plus they’re way cheaper high for high, and they beat any other legal alternative in authenticity because they do the same thing weed does. Oh, and you don’t have to burn plant material, so no carcinogens.

  8. @C-Lo – I’ve ready some scary stuff about some of the substances you mentioned. People have had some awful experiences and the general consensus in the forum I visited was you need to mix them with the real stuff to get a good ‘buzz,’ anyway.

  9. you really do pick some interesting subjects! I don’t really know much about cannabis but I have multiple sclerosis and I am told its really good for controlling the muscle spasms we get and for relaxing and calming the nerve signals. I have just stopped drinking every night (which I did to try and control some of the odd symptoms) but my husband was getting worried I was drinking way too much wine. I may look into the imported stuff, just so I can relax without my legs and hands dancing all night!
