Whole grains, fruits, and vegetables are low in calories, high in fibre and packed d with skin living nutrients. If you eat a diet rich in these items you will soon be able to slim your hips and slow down the aging process.

Vitamin A

If your skin is dry and flaky, before you apply any ointment, try eating a carrot. It is rich in fibre and will make you feel full fast. The better news for your complexion is that vitamin A in carrots and most orange and yellow produce helps dead skin cells to shed smoothly. If your diet is lacking in vitamin A, dead cells pile up on the skins surface blocking pores and preventing the glands from moisturizing your skin. Besides carrot, other sources of the vitamin are cantaloupe, papaya and sweet potatoes.

Vitamin C

Juicy oranges and grape fruit, crisp red and green peppers are all add variety and flavor to your diet, enabling you to stay on track until you reach your weight goal. They are all great sources of vitamin C, an antioxidant vitamin, which experts stay aids in inhibiting free radicals.

Vitamin C is also a critical factor in slowing down the breakdown of collegen, which works to keep the skin elastic and supple. While oranges are a good source, green peppers and dark leafy greens such as spinach are also excellent sources of this important vitamin. Eating food rich in this vitamin can slow down the rate at which your skin tissues lose elasticity thereby helping you to maintain a smoother and more youthful-looking skin for years to come.

Calcium

If you wish to have a trim figure, you should opt for low or non-fat dairy products such as skimmed milk, yogurt and cheese. But there’s a big beautifying benefit too. Calcium found in all these foods and others, tones and strengthens the skin and assists Vitamin C in the production of collagen. Skimmed milk may be the best source for calcium. But there are plenty of other sources, broccoli, spinach and canned salmon.

Miracle Minerals

Magnesium is a material that deserves top billing in our diet. It helps your body absorb calcium and various vitamins and works to repair and maintain skin cells.

Nuts are magnesium, powerhouses, but be careful, they are rich in calories and fat too which will soon add weight to your body. Instead, try half a sliced banana or whole grain bread.
