10 Second Stress Busters
These five simple health and lifestyle tips will help you reduce your stress levels.

Breathe deeply. Most people don’t realize that they start taking shallow, quick breaths when they’re tense, which deprives the body and mind of essential oxygen.
Take a tiny time-out. When your son spills his milk for the third time and you’re about to freak out, leaved the room. Physically removing yourself from the situation, even for just ten seconds, may be all you need to get a grip.
Put into words. Even if your only audience is an infant or the family guinea pig, try saying, “I’m feeling stressed-out right now,” which is a surprisingly effective way to defuse the tension. Writing your thoughts down on a piece of paper a few times can be just as helpful.
Do 12 jumping jacks. A quick burst of intense physical activity is a nondestructive way to vent pent-up energy, loosen tight muscles, and sneak in some stamina-building exercise.
Be silly. Humor is one of the best stress relievers around. You, and everyone around you, will instantly feel a whole lot better.
