Blank Mind Helps in Creative Thinking

Once when your mind is calm, you will become more creative.

Some days, I really run out of topics and used to feel blank. During such moments, I used to think, whether I am alive or dead. I cannot think of even a single topic to write or even a single concept to develop further. Just like a cleaned board, after a seminar, I used to feel inside.

I used to trouble myself, in search of the next step. But now I learnt the art of involving myself in some other works, at such times like, baking a cake, enjoying others articles and writing comments, going for a walk with my son. This is the time for me alone, apart from writing.

But believe me, once when I cross this blank phase, my hands will be full with topics and my mind is fully occupied in developing those topics. I used to run out of time, as I need to handle my son and husband, need to do household chores, plenty of other works.

When I told my husband about getting blank, he gave me a surprised, weird look and said “People are running for getting peace of mind, a blank mind which won’t think about anything. They are going to yoga classes and doing meditation to achieve this. But you are casually saying that you are getting blank often. Should I take it in right or wrong sense?”

Could be because, writing in Triond is my meditation, which helps me to concentrate on what I’m doing. So, I’m often getting blank, which leads to good and creative mind as the next step.

Have you ever faced such situation?

  1. Well, we all feel blank sometimes but that phase doesn’t last forever. After all you can always write about your blanks when you are blank ;-)

  2. We all feel like this sometimes, so don’t feel bad

  3. Yes, as you say, the blank phase seems to give rest and the mind gets rejuvenated once you get over it.

  4. I identify with this..:)

  5. A very creative writing……..A blank phase always increases the zeal to work better

  6. Use this period as a time for rejuvenation. After that, you’ll come up with some excellent topics. Cheers!
