It would be nice is there were some citations in here to confirm these claims. It sounds a little ‘new-age’ to me, although, there is in fact, a certain color of pink that calms even the most violent of criminal. It is used in a ‘calming room’ when police bring in a violent offender. Often, not only does this special pink calm and soothe, often, the violent criminal will curl up and go to sleep!
The color is quite specific and the program that I was watching that explained this, said that they cannot reveal or show the exact color as it could be exploited ‘in the wild.’ I assume, if used for walls in a gambling establishment, it could cause unwary gamblers to loose their edge in favor of ‘the house’ and they might lose more often, as if fatigued…

That’s interesting. I did read somewhere (sorry, don’t remember where!) that yellow does cheer you up so long as you’re not sick, which is why you’re not supposed to have it in a hospital.
Is that true, do you know?
Thanks,
Inna

Very interesting article. So the color yellow can cheer you up. You say that if you stare at the color for a long time it enhances anxiety and mental tension.

I love painting with yellow; it glees up the dullest of canvases.
McDonald uses it with red because it’s a know apetiser.
It’s beautiful in a field of green.
Thanks j

True, -I had forgotten about that! Yes, -kitchens are often yellow for the same reason… it causes one to be hungrier. I suppose combining red, black & yellow (like the McDonald’s French Fries box) serves it’s purpose quite well.
