There are a lot of different types of Yoga Classes out there available at most gyms. What makes Dahn Yoga different and special? While being a Dahn Yoga student, do you need to do regular type work outs and/or take other mainstream type yoga classes?

There are a lot of different types of Yoga Classes out there available at most gyms. So why spend extra to take Dahn Yoga? And what makes Dahn Yoga different and special? While being a Dahn Yoga student do you need to do regular type work outs and / or take other mainstream type yoga classes?
Why take Dahn Yoga?
When I arrived for my first class of Dahn Yoga, I came into the Dahn Yoga facility that was most local to me in New Jersey in need of focus, emotional support, renewed self esteem, physical health and strength, mental clarity and most of all, stronger confidence. And I know that I went to the right place. Those things and more is what Dahn Yoga can promise to any devoted member. You don’t go there with more flexibility as your goal. Dahn offers so much more than just that. You go wanting to be a better person physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, family-wise, and more, and that is what Dahn offers. You might find it odd at first. There is a lot of stretching, tapping and punching of your stomach, sitting in odd positions till it hurts, trying to relax and breath in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time, but wow, you leave there feeling like a new great person, each and every day you go.
What makes Dahn Yoga different and special?
Dahn Yoga is different from the more mainstream types of yoga that you will find in your local gyms and yoga studios. It is focused on stretching, strengthening of your intestinal health, and increasing your brain health. Dahn Yoga believes that you can master control of your physical through greater control of your brain and that true enlightenment is achieved through a thorough understanding of who your true self is. You will not be asked to do sun salutations, head stands, stretch in intense heat, or many other things that might come to mind when you think of what yoga is. You will leave with a strong conviction to be who you truly are, achieve what your really want, and with the strength to do so. You will leave with positive thoughts and a smile as all my co-practitioners and I do.
While being a Dahn Yoga student, is it important to keep up your regular gym / yoga activity?
For me, it is important to continue my regular, mainstream gym work outs. I feel that although Dahn Yoga helps build my physical strength, I still need to go to group fitness classes at my local gym. I find that the mainstream yoga classes also are helpful for me for extra physical strength and flexibility. Bottom line is that Dahn Yoga is great for your health and mental and physical well-being but if you are also in need of looking perfect in a bikini, I would recommend continuing with going to the gym. I find that Dahn Yoga is not enough of a Cardio workout which I still need to go to a regular gym for.
