Detoxification: a Way of Clean Living

I attended a medical seminar which is conducted by Dra. Lily Kho at Manila Chinese Baptist Church at Tomas Pinpin Street. And, this is what I learned on how to prevent from cancer. And, that event is concern about the cancer prevention.

Primary Objective: The purpose is to maintain and to strengthen the immune system. It is an information campaign not a replacement of medicine or treatment. You should consult your doctor first.

Why do we have to detoxify ourselves from harmful chemical and physical elements? Because it is simple and cheap health maintenance since we have daily exposure to dietary indiscretion, drugs and hidden killers or environmental toxins. As we observed, we have poor lifestyle and peer pressure. We are exposed to pollutions and chemicals or toxics. We have poor attitude toward health.

What are the Classifications of Detoxification?

We have first the general detoxification. In this classification, we have two processes: the internal and external process. Then, we have specific detoxification. Through blood chemistry, we would check our sugar, nicotine, parasite, organ specific, caffeine, alcohol, or any chemicals can be found there.

There are specific reasons why we should not undergo in the process of detoxification. Whether we have malignant illness or genetic diseases, we should not detoxify our body. If we have anti-immune disorder, we should not detoxify our body. If we are chronically underweight or suffer from hyperthyroidism, we should not be undergone in the process of detoxification. Whether we have mental illness or on a regular medication of any such illnesses, we should not detoxify our body. If a woman is pregnant, she must not undergo in the process of detoxification.

There are six steps for detoxification:

Removal of Obstacles for Health

  • Two days of liquid fast followed by a 5-day carefully planned diet designed to rest the digestive system.
  • Intake of supplements that stimulate and support detoxification. Supplements such as: Vitamins A, C, E, and S; Probiotics; Gluthathione or milk thistle; Omega 3, 6, and 9; Beta Glucan

Improve Circulation

  • Regular cardiovascular exercise (15-30 mins threadmill 3x per week)
  • Accupuncture
  • Manipulative therapies ( massage, reflexology, chiropathy)
  • Hydrotherapy (alternate hot and cold stimulation)
  • Steam and sauna followed by cold shower.

Enhance Elimination

  • Open up avenues of excretions (sweat, urine, feces)
  • Intenstines (colon irrigation, herbal laxative, and Vitamin C flush)
  • Kidney (dieresis, water therapy, and herbal teas)
  • Skin diaphoresis (sweat therapy)

Repair Gastrointestinal Tract

  • High fiber – Combination of solluble and insolluble fiber.
  • Oils – Omega 3, 6, 9
  • Probiotics – Replenish good bacteria
  • Enzymes – Pancreatic and Digestive

Stimulate the Liver:

  • Liver and gall bladder flush
  • Coffee Enemas
  • Dietary Discretion – avoid saturated fats and hydrogenated fats
  • Vitamin Supplements – A, C, E, S- Anti-oxidants (Beta – Glucan)

Boost up Immune System by Managing Stress:

  • Music Therapy
  • Dancing
  • Massages
  • Prayers
  • Altering home and work environment

Must have regular blood screening! You must check the following items in the blood chemistry:

  • SGOT and SGPT
  • Billirubin
  • Calcium
  • Phosphorus
  • Uric Acid
  • BUN
  • Creatinine
  • Cholesterol
  • FBS
  • Ferritim

Timing of Detox:

  • NEW YEAR DETOX (1/10 – 2/10) – This is a 3 days program. There should be fasting and intestinal cleansing.
  • SPRING DETOX (3/10 – 4/15) – This is a 7 – 10 days program. There should be a liver and parasite cleansing.
  • AUTUMN DETOX (9/11 – 10/15) – This is a 7-10 days program. There should be a kidney and heavy metal cleansing.
