Healing Through Relaxation

Healing through relaxation can condition your body to good health and cure or lessen pain.

Many physiological changes occur when you practice healing through relaxation. You are putting your body in the best position to heal itself when you are in deep relaxation. Healing relaxation is a form of self hypnosis and a way of putting the conscious mind to sleep so the sub conscious can do its work. Find a quiet tranquil place and totally relax. Focus on your body and see it strong, healthy, and working correctly. Look at your body as a well oiled machine with all the organs working harmoniously.

Quiet and subdue the conscious mind so all the messages will be funneled to the subconscious and the involuntary nervous system. I will explain how I do this. This is my routine every night when I go to bed.

I lie down on my back and get comfortable. I relax and feel my body heavy on the bed. I watch my breathing. It will slow significantly. I have my eyes closed. My body will feel heavy and still. My breath will be very slow. Behind my eyelids, I slowly run my eyes from the top of my head all over my body, slowly taking in every organ in my body. Behind my eyelids, I see the blood running through my veins. I picture every organ healthy. I run my eyes over my bones, seeing them big and strong. Don’t let your mind wander. This might take some practice but you will be able to do it.

Sometimes frustration, angry, anxiety, or a bad relationship will turn into sickness and pain. Some people in your life can be “a real pain in the neck” or “too much to stomach.” Many people may be subjecting themselves to medicine and surgery for chronic sickness that may be caused by bad relationships and unhappiness. You will always have some stress but healing relaxation will help keep your body and mind in good working order.
