Herbal Alternative Treatments for Cancer
Herbal alternative treatments for melanoma and lymphoma of the eye maybe some of or a combination of these treatments. There are many herbs that may be used in the treatment of eye problems such as elder, ragwort, eyebright, and so on. Each of these herbs has specific problems that they treat like swelling of the eye or blurred vision. But the focus of a problem such as cancer may need a specific combination of herbs and a complete change in diet.
The Hoxsey Therapy
The Hoxsey formula was created by Harry Hoxsey an herbal folk healer that attracted many devoted cancer survivors after he developed his herbal therapy that originated with his great- grandfather.
The classic Hoxsey formula contained a potassium iodide solution and red clover, buckthorn, burdock root, stillingia root, barberry bark, chaparral, licorice root, cascara amarga, and prickly ash bark. This had originally been a salve and today the Hoxsey therapy is a combination or herbal preparations for internal and external use along with vitamin, mineral supplements, personal counseling and a change in diet.
Cancers such as lymphoma, melanoma, and skin cancer have responded well to the Hoxsey combination. If you are interested in the use of the Hoxsey therapy you can contact the Bio- Medical Center to find out how to proceed with your treatments.
While taking the Hoxsey therapy you should avoid tomatoes, vinegar, processed flour, and alcohol because they can dilute the effect of the herbs.

Gerson Diet Therapy
The Gerson diet consists of restoring the function of oxidizing systems. To accomplish this Dr.Gerson believed that 3 factors had to be addressed-Detoxifying the body is first, and then fortify your system with minerals from the potassium group. Then introduce Oxidizing enzymes to the body. The Gerson diet includes a strict diet of fresh fruits and raw vegetables, mostly as juice; this diet also restricts the use of tobacco, sharp spices, tea, coffee, cocoa, chocolates, alcohol, refined sugar and flour, all processed or canned foods, nuts, mushrooms, soybeans, pickles, cucumbers, pineapples, and any berries except red currants.
To get more information on this therapy you can contact The Gerson Research Organization or the Gerson Memorial Cancer Center.

Herbal remedies can be effective for cancer patients, but its really important to notify your doctor of which herbs your taking. Research has shown that a combination of chemotherapy and herbs can be toxic, obviously this doesnt apply for melanoma and lymphoma of the eye as treatment is usually laser or radiotherapy, but its definately something to bear in mind.
