Homeopathy: An Alternative?
Homeopathy is a mainstream form of medicine.
Homeopathy is often called as an alternative form of treatment by which I supposed it is implied that if Allopathy does not work then you should go for homeopathy otherwise don’t waste your time on it.
Though it is the fastest growing treatment method in recent times it is still given step motherly treatment and the reason for this is people’s unwillingness to take the time to understand it and the lack of patience that is so typical of the our generation.
Agreed that homeopathy takes years to cure, (actually that is a bit exaggerated but it’s hard to beat hard ground illusions) but the fact is, it heals. It heals. Yes it does. Unlike Allopathy, homeopathy treats the mental symptoms, i.e. were you to go to an allopathic doctor, he would ask you what your physical symptoms were, and he prescribes medicines on the basis of what you are suffering.
And then years down the line many people end up with side effects of continuous consumption of these medicines. In contrast, homeopathy looks at the mental symptoms. My friends who had taken up homeopathy and then left it after the first visit itself have this to say, “But Urooj you know she/he wanted to know everything about me, my likes my dislikes, my friends, whether I am happy or sad, whether…”. It should be understood that these facts are necessary to paint a complete picture of who you are. A complete picture of you will only point towards the remedy that should be prescribed to you.
It basically works on the basis of ‘like cures like’. It strengthens your immunity. I’ll try to explain how the “sweet” medicine is actually made but I doubt I’ll be able to clarify your doubts easily. Say for example, a medicine which is prepared from snake venom. One dram of the venom is mixed in 1000 kgs of sugar. One dram of that mixture is again mixed in 1000 kgs of sugar and so on. Each time this procedure is repeated the medicine is said to be potentized. Thus, even though you might think that the venom has got diluted, the fact is that the venom is not there but its ‘spirit’ is captured in that particular medicine. (I hope it is not beginning to sound like some voodoo craft).
Give it a chance my friends. I can assure you that if you’ve gone to a good doctor and you have a little patience too, you’ll benefit.

This is very interesting. I don’t know of any doctors who practice this around here. I would go to a lecture about it, if someone were to have one I could get to. My daughter is into natural medicines, is this in that line? I will have to go to the book store and see if I can find a book on this kind of practice. Thank for the information. You are right, taking medicines for too long can cause problems down the line.

a really wonderful article on Homeopathy. i fully agree 100% that they are slow to work and it requires discipline. once the time passes, the benefits of it can be clearly felt internally whereas scientific drugs weaken the immunity system and ultimatley the body rejects the drug/s.
