Innovative Visualization Journeys
Bring healing and health to your life.

Visual, audio and reading “journey” mind therapy work is an invaluable contribution to human development and healing processes. Anytime the mind is able to be quieted to a calm, serene level of being is a time the body can begin to heal and restore itself. And, cumulatively the more time your mind is able to stay in such a peaceful state of being the better for your overall health and well being in life.
Fortunately, you can find a wide array of audio tapes and reading material that will offer visual journey scenarios created to bring you to this positive state of being. After you have practiced one or more of them a few times, you will be able to naturally conjure the images anytime of the day instilling a sense of peace even in the most stressful of situations.
Keep in mind there are many different types of “journeys” you can choose from. Find one that fits best with your personality. For example, maybe you feel more comfortable listening to a woman’s voice on an audio tape. Or maybe you would prefer reading a “journey” and then thinking about it afterwards.
Whatever type of visualization exercise you end up choosing, make sure it is one you feel completely comfortable and safe with. This precaution is specifically directed toward people who have experienced extremely frightening, traumatic situations in life.
Because therapeutic visualization exercises utilize the imagination, they have the potential to rekindle memories from a past terrifying situation. If you or a loved one has experienced an extraordinary traumatic circumstance, it is advisable to either try these exercises for the first time with a therapist that is specially trained in this field. You can also attempt them on your own, however, if you begin to feel excessive anxiety, please be sure to stop the exercise right away. Lastly, if you currently suffer from any sort of excessive anxiety in your everyday life, it is not advisable to try these exercises on your own at all. Keep in mind, your peace of mind and well being is important above all else.
The following is a reading “journey” I created.
(I have two years of graduate degree experience in a Master’s of Counseling Psychotherapy program, one year of being a therapist intern with regular clientele, in addition to one year experience as a suicide hot line volunteer that required a six month training period.)

While I can see the need for this and understand and appreciate this it sometimes comes down to time, when will we find time for us, ourselves? It’s a matter of making and taking the time. I love what you have to say here. Michael

Corny but this works for me – I can handle any type of sickness other than nausea. When I am feeling queezy – I think of riding a horse on a beach. It works – it takes me out of the queezy moment until I can’t “hold it” in anymore.
