Look Around You: How Much Purple Do You See?

The lack of purples in our everyday lives.

If someone asked  you what your favorite color was and you said Purple – What would  be your reasons why? Because it is a unique color?  It could be you know that Purple has stood for Royalty and Power due to it’s rarity to make the color at one time.  When I think of Purple – I used to think of eggplants and bruises – is that weird?  The color Purple actually has a greater play on our moods and senses than one would ever expect.  Purple is made from blues and reds.  Cools and Warms mixed together into the perfect Balance Color.  Too much of a bold Purple in your room can actually make one feel agitated due to its Brashness though.  A nice Lavender Purple is a perfect soothing balance.  Add some natural dried Lavender in rooms of your home mixing the soothing color with the natural benefits of the Lavender scent.  See if you notice how it affects your mood.

Lavender oil is a fairly inexpensive therapeutic oil to keep around the house too!  Its scent is a natural stress reliever, and it one of the few essential oils that is safe to use directly onto your skin aiding first degree burns for relieving pain and reducing blisters.  An aromatherapist told me she would take a mixture of Lavender oil mixed with a little distilled water in a squirt bottle on their vacations to spray on those inevitable sunburned skin spots.  I tried it, and loved it!   I now keep dried and sometimes fresh Lavender in almost every room of my house.  I have felt a real difference in tensions (a family of 4) around the home since starting this, and I always get compliments from friends stating how pretty it is, and how much they just Love the smell…  Even take some to the Office!
