MY Tryst with Reiki
Surrender to Healing energies.
In 1995 REIKI came into my life. At the time, I was finding a vacuum in my professional life-and all of a sudden Reiki opened its doors for me & enveloped me in its healing energies. I attended a Reiki workshop expecting no miracles. During the Initiation Ceremony, I could not feel anything-whereas some one felt vibrations, some one else saw visions et al. I cursed myself, “see, what happens to a non believer? serves you right too”. For the next two days of the workshop I paid more attention or at least I tried to.
I was told to practice Reiki continuously for 21 days at the same hour, so that the energies of the initiate starts flowing. With my packed schedule of a full time job, home maker, cook, & doting mother of a 14 year old, I wondered how to find that extra hour. I turned the problem on its head by getting up at 5.30 a.m. every morning. Initially I felt nothing, but as the days passed, I could sometime feel the ends of my fingers tingling or my body parts getting warmer. There were sensations I could not & did not want to explore. I just went with the flow. After a couple of days when hubby dear asked me why I did not get my back massaged by him as was our nightly ritual, it struck me like lightening that my chronic backache of 14 years had vanished-whoosh, simply gone. I had Reiki healing & I didn’t even realize it.
Thereafter Reiki became a way of life if the bus was late, do Reiki. If the boss was in a bad mood, do Reiki. If I wanted something desperately, do Reiki. But most of all the healing energy empowered me. I was no longer afraid to travel alone out of town or stand up to any one. Reiki was a friend, a support, a crutch to lean on, a warm gentle feeling inside me pushing my envelopes, a helping hand for family & friends. I am not looking for a scientific proof of its existence. I just know the healing energies are there for me in my hour of need & for that I am eternally grateful. For Reiki teaches you to be grateful for everything in life .
So, Go with REIKI & experience for yourself .

I love hearing stories of Reiki! The more you use it, the more fascinating it becomes. Scientifically, they have photographed the hands of Reiki practitioners(probably to please those that have to see or touch things to believe in them.)
After practicing Reiki for so many years(1996), I no longer find it necessary to try and explain anything that can not be measured and touched. I find that as clients receive Reiki and witness the results, the more they too see that Reiki is very real. Just as praying can help(and you can not see or measure that), so can Reiki.
Glad your back is better.(saves on your hubby’s massage hands too)(:
