Supplements Can Be Harmful
Moderation is a rule of thumb.
There was recent data in some 67 clinical trials found that antioxidant supplements do not reduce the risk of death. This data included trials on beta-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and selenium supplements. The trials consisted of more than 200,000 participants.
The report said vitamin A was linked to a 14% greater risk of death and that Beta-carotene was linked to a 7% increase while vitamin E was linked to a 4% increased risk. However, vitamin C and selenium were not associated with any detrimental health effects. The findings suggest that high doses of some vitamins may interfere with the body’s natural defense mechanisms.
Eating nutritional meals regularly, exercise and reduce stress may be the best means of staying healthy. However, studies have shown there is value in taking supplements to fill in the gap when eating habits are lacking. It is not easy for everyone to eat balanced meals all the time, so supplements can fill the gap. Nevertheless, high does are not good for some.

I have to agree to your last paragraph. Nothing beats the natural source of all the vitamin and minerals, but that’s if you’re eating healthy food. In this world today it’s kinda hard to get so called ‘healthy food’, unless you really seek for it or make it yourself. To me, eating in moderation and being picky sometimes is always the key. I take supplements once in a while but i’ll give priority to good food. Anyway, the facts are very interesting, especially on the death risk.I’ll take note, definitely.
