Tea Tree oil is certainly not a new discovery for many. Used predominately as a topical treatment for a variety of skin conditions, Tea Tree oil is an essential oil that no home medicine cabinet should be without.
Tea Tree oil is a powerful anti-fungal, and has been used by many to treat fungal infections. Tea Tree oil is well known for treating conditions like athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch and fungal infections of the toenails or fingernails.
Typically, when being used to treat a fungal infection Tea Tree oil can be applied directly to the affected area without dilution. Of course, in the rare instance that a skin irritation should occur it can be diluted with warm water.
Many people have also successfully used tea tree oil to clear up there acne. Tea Tree oil is a natural antiseptic and anti-bacterial, making it ideal for clearing up many types of acne. Acne is often caused by the build up of dirt, oil and bacteria in the pores. Cleansing daily with a natural product like Tea Tree oil is less harsh than many of the standard over the counter products, therefore reducing many of the side effects experienced with them.
Continued use of Tea Tree oil has also been known to decrease the amount of acne breakouts one might have without it’s daily use. When using Tea Tree oil on the face, it is typically necessary to dilute it with either another natural element like aloe or water. Although, many people do use it concentrated without problems.
Faithful users of Tea Tree oil also keep it on hand for situations meriting first aide. It’s natural antiseptic and anti-bacterial products make it ideal for treating cuts, burns and infections of the skin. People use Tea Tree oil for first aid by making up a diluted solution of the essential oil and water.
Typically, a diluted mixture would consist of about one and a half tablespoons of Tea Tree oil and one cup of water. You can use this mixture to rinse or flush the injury, then continue to use it periodically as the injury heals to prevent infection and promote healing.
There are many other uses for Tea Tree oil, some common and some not so common. People have been known to use Tea Tree oil to ease the sting of insect bites, using the same diluted solution people use for cuts. Many use it for boils and skin inflammations by using essential Tea Tree oil undiluted directly on the affected.
Dandruff is another condition that people use Tea Tree oil for. For use on dandruff add a few drops of Tea Tree oil to your shampoo or rub a few drops of Tea Tree oil directly on the scalp. Another condition people use Tea Tree oil for is hives. They mix a few drops of Tea Tree oil with about two ounces of witch hazel and apply to the affected area.
Tea Tree oil has been used for a variety of different conditions for quite some time. Many people faithfully use Tea Tree oil daily both in it’s concentrated form and in products. Tea Tree oil is sold in everything from toothpaste to shampoo.
Concentrated Tea Tree oil can be purchased online or in health food stores. Tea Tree oil should always say pure on the bottle label. Tea Tree oil is non-toxic and has little to no history of allergic reaction when used properly. Tea Tree oil is a strong and potent essential oil so it should always be kept out of reach of children and pets, because it can be harmful if swallowed.

I would advise only organic goats milk yogurt for douches diluted a little with pure water and 2 to 3 drops of tea tree.
