Urine Therapy: Fact or Myth?

Urine therapy is not a new thing. It was considered by Dr. Shri Gordhandas Khimji Thakkar, a crusader of the shivambu campaign to help ailing humanity. Urine therapy though very ancient, has unique attraction to people. It is a fact that was proven to have helped especially the poor countries whose people cannot afford the consistently increasing cost of medicines and services of medical practitioners.

In a book written by Jai Shivambu, entitled Wonders of Uropathy, an advocate and tax consultant practicing in Bombay, with an honorary degree of Doctorate of Medicine, he wrote the following instructions about Urine Treatment (U.T.):

  1. One should commence U.T. after relinguishing all medicines, non-vegetarian food and intoxicating things like bidi, cigarette, tobacco, liquor, etc.  However, there are two exceptions.  Allopathic medicines with shivambu sometimes create complications, while ayurvedic and homoeopathic medicines go well with it.
  2. Patients suffering from heart trouble and diabetes cannot discontinue medicines suddenly.  As such, they may drink urine along with their usual medicines and if they realize that urine suits them, then they can reduce the dose of medicines in a phased manner.  Thus in a couple of months they can get rid of the medicines completely.
  3. There is no need of any pathological tests of blood, urine, sputum, stools etc. in order to diagnose the disease.
  4. External application of urine upon any injury or wound arising out of cuts or burns gives instant relief and the wound gets dried and healed soon.  Even the scars of the wounds would not remain on the body.
  5. U.T. is very effective in counteracting the venom of snake, scorpion, rabies virus or intoxicating influence of opium, brown sugar and other nasty drugs.
  6. In the beginning you may add equal amount of water while drinking it and you won’t feel the disagreeable taste of it.  Honey or syrup can be mixed along with water in urine for a couple of days.
  7. As a general tonic for keeping fit, healthy and energetic and  also preventive against all infectious diseases one glass (200 to 250 cc) once or twice a day can be safely taken.  Even if taken in more quantity it is beneficial and not harmful.  Children should be given 2 to 10 tablespoons of urine according to their age.

There are possible reactions to some patients in rare cases like coughs, cold, vomiting, loose motions, itching or boils on skin, for drinking urine but one should not be alarmed.  The reaction indicates that the impurities and toxins accumulated in the body are being thrown out or being cleansed.  If these occur, there is no need to take any medicine to put an end to such reactions.  Try it and be able to enjoy healthy and happy life.
