Being Beautiful on The Inside!

Beauty is more than skin deep!

Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, what do these women have in common?  Well, aside from the fact that they are all famous, they are all absolutely beautiful.  They have the looks that many women (like myself) can only dream of.  If you have ever struggled with self confidence I am sure that you know what I mean.  However, is all that “outside beauty” all that important? Or can a women be just as beautiful on the inside?

Now I am not trying to say that there is anything wrong with being attractive on the outside but I happen to feel that many people lose sight of the fact that being attractive is just what someone looks like, not who they are.  In recent years I have met some really attractive people who I have to admit I was even jealous of; that is until I met their personality (or lack-there-of).  Sadly, many of these “beauty on the outside” people were absolute monsters on the inside.  It was as if they thought that due to being beautiful on the outside their attitude or how they treated people shouldn’t matter.  Hardly the case!

Do you want to know what I think about beauty? Now this is coming from someone who has never found herself to be anything more than a 7 (on a good day) on the oh so important scale of 1 to 10.  I can honestly say that I would love to be beautiful on the outside but for me it is more important to feel it on the inside.  I would much rather be mediocre in ouside looks and be a great person on the inside.  I strive to be someone that people can come to in times of need, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to bend, a helping hand… To me that is real beauty!

In the end, outside looks will fade and all that will remain of ones outside beauty will be pictures.  However, your inside beauty will last a life-time! And perhaps when it is your time to go your memory will live on forever as someone who was truly beautiful where it really counted; on the inside!

  1. Outside beauty is very subjective. It all depends on how we look after ourselves, enhancing our natural features. I always thought that I wasn’t atractive until someone told I’m not ugly. It’s only that I don’t look after myself enough to enhance my looks Thanks for sharing!
