Five Steps to Glowing Skin All Over

Five simple steps to transform your skin from tired and pallid to radiantly beautiful.

Smooth glowing skin is something we all aspire to. And it’s really not that hard to get. Most of us focus on our faces and neglect the skin on our bodies. This article takes a look at how you can get smooth, glowing skin all over in just 5 easy steps.

Step 1: Dry skin brushing. Add dry skin brushing to your morning routine. It improves the outer texture of your skin, boosts circulation, stimulates the body’s lymphatic (waste disposal) system and speeds up the elimination of toxins. Use a soft, natural fiber brush and work in firm strokes toward the heart.

Step 2: Exfoliate regularly. If your skin looks blotchy, dehydrated or sluggish, it can benefit from regular exfoliation. Use a body scrub twice a week to remove the old, dry and flaky skin and reveal the fresh, new skin underneath.

Step 3:
Get circulation going by taking a cool shower. A hand-held shower is best for this. This can be quite a shock to your system, so acclimatize your body to it by spraying cool water on your feet first and then working your way up.

Step 4: Don’t forget your scalp. Trichologist, Phillip Kingsley uses this fabulous homemade hair mask to cleanse and nourish the scalp. Break an egg into a bowl, add a mashed banana and enough witch hazel to fill the egg shell. Blend this mixture together in the blender. Apply to dry hair and leave on for 30 minutes. Then rinse out and wash and condition as usual.

Step 5:
Give yourself a relaxing self-massage. This has the benefit of helping you to relax and get back in touch with your body. Use a massage oil and lie comfortably on your back on a towel, mat or rug on the floor, with your head on a small pillow for support. Rest both hands on the right side of your lower abdomen. Start to rub the massage oil upward toward the ribs in small, circling movements. Once you are a few inches above your belly button work across your stomach to the left-hand side and then work downwards. Slide your hands to the right and begin again on the right hand side. Repeat 10-20 times.
