Five Things You Must Do to Prevent and Cure Acne

Get rid of your acne, now…

I’m sure if you have acne, or know someone who has acne, you have heard tons of things that are supposed to cure it.  There’s more to controlling your acne than just cleaning your face.  This is why Proactiv, Clean and Clear, and the like do not work for so many people.  These products claim to make you acne free, but they will only work if you help them out.  Here’s what you need to do.

Scratch Sugary and Greasy Foods

Consuming excess sugar will disrupt your body’s natural hormone balance.  This is one of the main causes for acne.  Greasy and oily foods greatly will contribute to the amount of clogged pores on your face, which become inflamed, so stay away from fried food.

Get Outside!

The Sun is a great resource for controlling your acne.  The sun emits ultra-violet rays which kill ance causing bacteria on your face.

Take Vitamins

Vitamins are very important for controlling your acne.  Some of the nutrients in your vitamins may promote hormonal balance.  Other nutrients, such as vitamins A, E, and Omega 3’s, help promote healthy skin, and are needed to regenerate and repair your skin while you sleep.  I recommend taking a multi-vitamin, and fish oils, when you wake up, and go to bed.

Drink Plenty of Water

Water is extremely important for your body to regenerate and repair it’s skin.  Being hydrated also prevents dry skin, which produces excess oils, which causes acne.  You should drink a few glasses of water throughout the day, as well as a glass right before bed.

Sleep

When you don’t sleep enough, things can get messy.  Your body heals itself while you are asleep.  Your hormones get totally out of whack when you don’t sleep.  When you are short on sleep you get stressed out easier, which also causes acne.  I believe this is one of the bigger reasons why some teens get extreme cases of acne.  A good night’s sleep is very important to your health.  Make sure you dedicate 7-8 hours per night to sleep.
