Four Pimple Remedies
Four remedies for large pimples that wont go away.
Rubbing Alcohol
Rubbing alcohol dries out pimple and usually leads to a quicker recovery. Like most treatments, this has many different outcomes. In my personal expierence, one time this completely got rid of a pimple overnight, the other time there was no significant diference, so there is a much variety of results.
Olux (Clobetasol)
Olux is a topical steroid which is a presciption medication for poison ivy and bug bites. Ask your dermatologist about it as it is very effective for those purposes and it also helps with pimples. Apply it once in the morning and once at night and after 1 day it will help and after 2 or 3 days it will greatly reduce the severity of it. This should be done for a max of 3 days because after that it could have adverse effects. Also, make sure you only get it on the affected area.
Cortisone Injection
If you have a very large, deep pimple that may cause scarring, it could be a good idea to go to a dermatologist and get a cortisone injection in it. It will basically get rid of the pimple in 2 to 3 days. It can also get rid of the possibility of scaring, especially if you have had other large pimples that have scarred. The only problem is if too much cortisone is injected it can cause an indent in the skin.
Pop It
While popping pimples is often discouraged, if done right it can help alot. To properly pop a pimple it needs to have a white head, or an area of pus at the top. Rub the area with rubbing alcohol and use a sterilized needle or safety pin to break the skin around the white head, only enough to let it escape. Then let the pus come out or gently push around the area to get it all out. Stop once blood starts coming out and apply pressure until blood stops coming out. This won’t get rid of the pimple but it will make it less raised and less apparent.
