Get Rid of Stretch Marks After Pregnancy
A guide to getting rid of stretch marks after pregnancy using natural and home remedies.
Pregnancy can leave a womans body in a state of shock, with unsightly stretch marks, overstretched skin and weight gain. Many women face the dilemma of how to get rid of stretch marks once they have given birth, it is well documented that stretch marks are impossible to get rid of and once you have them you are stuck with them for life. Well I say this is not true, I developed a stretch marks on my lower abdomen despite oiling my stomach every day with bio oil I still got them. In a desperate attempt to get rid of them I searched the internet and read several books, not to mention the endless conversations I have had with beauticians and dermatologists about the possiblity of removing them safely using many different methods. I found out that natural unrefined shea butter works very well in renewing skin cells and resurfacing the skin.
I went on a mission and purchased some unrefined shea butter from a health store, I began using it twice a day and sometimes more. Within one week I saw a slight but visible difference in the appearance of my stretch marks, they had begun to fade but they were not quite gone. I realised that in order to see better results I had to add something else into the mix. I did some more research and found out that extensive exfoliation of affected area can work wonders in reducing their appearance. I made a mixture of olive oil and brown sugar rubbed it on and rinsed off morning and night for a 2 weeks and low and behold they have completely faded.
There are many other home remedies that help with the appearance of stretch marks such as aloe vera juice/gel, oatmeal and honey scrub, and of course drinking plenty of water. However the most effective natural remedy I have found is shea butter and olive oil and brown sugar scrub.
