When do we say there is hair loss? It is normal that each day 30 to 50 hair fall and new ones grow. If there is more fall, it indicates hair loss, and one must take immediate steps to control falling. To control hair loss you must identify the exact cause. This will be helpful in taking quick action.

The tips mentioned here will help in promoting hair growth.

Cancer patients undergo chemotherapy, the drug therapy used to kill the cancer cells. Unfortunately these drugs affect the hair follicles, the part of the skin that grows hair. Radiation therapy, in which high energy rays are used to burn the cancer cells, also affects the follicles.

Hypothyroidism causes hair fall. Treatment should be taken for the condition with proper food.

Hormone imbalance causes hair fall. Medical help should be sought for this.

Intestinal disorders are a major cause for hair fall and this cause is mostly neglected. Digestive disorders can be treated with probiotics, which contain bacteria that aid digestion. Other kinds of intestinal disorders like parasites, bacteria, fungal and yeast infections should be treated medically because it impairs the absorption of vitamin B12 in the intestines. This causes pernicious anaemia, the condition in which the body is not able to produce enough red blood cells because it lacks vitamin B12.

Diabetes causes hair fall.

Anaemia causes hair loss.

Alopecia is a condition in which body’s resistance causes the falling of hair.

Lupus disease is also a condition when body’s own resistance attacks different organs,- joints, kidneys, lungs ,skin, blood cells and heart.

    2) Use a mild/herbal shampoo thrice a week and a reputed conditioner twice a week.
    3) Apply the conditioner to the tips of the hair and not to the scalp.
    4) Eat well and include fruits and vegetables in your diet. Avoid junk food.
    5) Exercise, as it increases blood circulation to the scalp.
    6) Relax and don’t take stress as stress leads to hairfall. So sleep well.
