Home Spa Simple Pleasures – for Your Face

Bring out the candles, play some soft music, and indulge in inexpensive spa treatments you can do right at home.

SKIN MASKS

Dermatologists suggest the following all-natural facial spa treats, custom-made for your skin type.

You’ll Need:

For dry skin

distilled water

aloe vera gel

lavender essential oil

For oily skin

ground oatmeal

yogurt

Treat Your Face

Combine all the ingredients. Apply as a facial mask on clean skin. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off.

MOISTURIZING MASK

Mash an avocado, a papaya, an apple, or a banana. All these contain natural AHAs or Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which slough off dead skin cells and help skin become healthier. Apply this to your face, leave on for a couple of minutes as you relax, then rinse off.

SKIN LIGHTENER MASK

You’ll Need:

two tablespoons yogurt

15 ml lemon juice

crushed cucumber

Treat Your Skin

1.  Combine yogurt, lemon juice, and cucumber. Leave on your face for a maximum of 10 minutes.

2.  Rinse off. A caveat:  Be careful when using lemon juice as this can irritate sensitive skin. Wash it off if it stings.

ALL NATURAL FACIAL

You’ll Need

one to two tablespoons honey

one to three drops lemon juice

cucumber

Treat Your Face

1.  Clean face with soap and lukewarm water.

2.  Mix together honey and lemon juice. Massage this on your face and neck. Leave on for 15 minutes.

3.  Rinse off with water.

4.  Cut cucumber into very thin slices. Put these all over your face and neck area. Relax for another 15 minutes.

5.  Remove cucumber slices and towel off.
