How to Reduce Acne Breakouts and Get Clear Skin
About acne, home treatments to reduce acne and skin irritation…
What the heck is acne anyway? Acne is skin disorder caused by plugged pores. The glands in the dermis layer of the skin produce an oily substance call sebum, which is used to naturally moisturize and lubricate skin. Particularly during puberty hormones produce rapidly and can cause an overproduction of sebum. As a result, this sebum clogs the skin pores leading to white and black head. Blackhead form when sebum combines with skin pigment and plugs the pores; White-heads are slightly elevated from the skin, and unlike blackheads, are not very visible because their opening to the skin’s surface is narrower or sometimes closed. When these two types of acne are untreated the result can be and infection. Your acne will get inflamed and worsen.
To help reduce and protect against infection and inflamed skin here are a few home treatments and lifestyle changes to try.
Food
First of all acne plagues the best of us and some simple tricks can help relieve the acne all together. For instance a good friend of min had acne bad for years and her doctor suggested she remove beef and pork from her diet as well as other fried foods. I swear with in a week she had a whole new face. Of course she went a bit extreme and eliminated all meat from her diet, except fish. Just by reducing her fried intake and eliminating beef pork and even chicken her acne was cured. Still to this day she rarely eats meat and her face has never looked better.
Water
It is said that by drinking your 8 cups of water a day it can also help reduce acne. The water keeps your skin moisturized and nourished. So drink plenty of water, and avoid sugary and drinks with colouring, clear liquids are always best.
Washing
Using proper washing techniques can also helps relieve irritated and inflamed acne. Never, never, never use soaps to wash your face; wipe off makeup with baby oil, enzyme oil, olive oil or any other gentle makeup remover, wash you face with warm water and rinse with cold. The warm water open pores releasing the dirt and grim and the cold closes them back up again. Another way to open your pores to clean them is to exercise, work up a sweat and then after take a shower washing with warm water and rinsing with cool or cold water.
