Skin differentiates one individual from another. Some may be dark skinned and some may be white skinned. Moreover, some may have dry skin and some may have oily skin. There is great difference between the skins of an individual to another.
Here we can look at the three layers that make the skin. Before that, I would like to tell you that Melanin is the substance that gives colour to the skin.
Coming to the skin layers, it has three – Epidermis (outer layer), Dermis (middle Layer) and Subcutaneous (innermost layer).
Epidermis is the part that we see. The hairs and the sweat glands open here. Just below the epidermis is the dermis that has blood vessels, nerve endings, oil and sweat glands.
The innermost layer is the Subcutaneous. It has fat deposits, which help in keeping the body warm. Subcutaneous layer also acts as a shock absorber and it is here where the hair follicles emerge.
