Stretch Mark Bumps: Home Remedies
In this article, I explain how I combine two different products to help smooth stretch marks.
I originally posted this on my blogger web site. I hope that it does not get kicked off for me posting it on my blog as well as this site. I promise that I have not copied this from any one, and it is all my submission.
Stretch marks, a lot of us have them. If not from being Pregnant, then from our bodies growing at rapid speed when we were little. I know I have had stretch marks since I was in 4th grade, you know.. the ones going across our sides and sometimes over our thighs.
I had my first child almost a year ago, and let me tell you.. I thought I was doing good and putting enough lotion and oil on my skin to keep it stretchy, but loan-behold, the last month of my pregnancy, I went from having no stretch marks to having a whole lower abdomen full of them. Not pretty, and they do not have a good texture to them either. Even without seeing the stretch marks, all I have to do is rub my hands over my stomach and I know they are there. The bumps from skin being stretched and the cells being torn apart come right along with the stretch marks of pregnancy, and not putting lotion on my belly at least twice a day.
Here I am, Pregnant once again.. ugg, and my stretch marks have just started to fade, still the bumps and uneven skin are there. I have been using Bio-Oil since I had my daughter, and I think that has helped fade my stretch marks from being an almost purple color to being a light pink almost white color with-in the year. Then again, I just started to use that twice a day as directed as well.. (this could have something to do with the fact that I haven’t had them fade as much as others with in a year’s time).
Alas, I have figured out a home-remedy that seems to be working with the roughness and bumps of my stretch marks. This is also a great moisturizer. It may sound weird to most people, but you never know unless you try it!
I have used my method of skin smoothing only 3 times, and I can already feel the difference. I still have the marks, but I haven’t used it long enough to see if this helps with the color of skin as well.
Anyway – My method is… Brown sugar and Coco-butter Soothing Oil
To mix this up, I add just enough Oil to the Brown sugar to make the sugar get even darker when i squeeze it, not any more then that. I don’t want the sugar to dissolve in the oil, nor do i want it to be soupy. The key is to have it as close to the natural feeling of brown sugar, but just a tad “damp” from the oil. Make sure that you mix it up in something that you can put a lid on and stick it back in the fridge.. you may want to put a “not for food use” sticker on the lid to keep people from thinking it’s food. Always place in the refridgerator after use to keep from drying out.
Simple, Right? To apply, wet your skin, and take a pinch at a time rubbing it on your skin in circular motions. The Brown Sugar will dissolve, and you will be left with a very moisturized skin that smells of brown sugar and coco (if u use the coco-butter Soothing Oil). You can rinse off your skin and it will still leave moisture all over the areas you placed the mixture. This does not just have to be used on your stretch marks, but if you want extra moisture on other places.
If you like this idea or what it does to your skin, let me know of your results.
