Tips for Keeping Your Skin Glowing and Beautiful Naturally

A natural way of make your skin glowing and beautiful this monsoon.

As  Monsoon season starts it brings much needed moisture after the dehydrating summers. Our skins is in a better condition during these months and needs less care than during the summer or winter months. But even as our skin rejoices in the additional moisture, it requires a bit of pampering – after all you would not mind looking a bit more beautiful. Taking care of your skin naturally has its own benefits.

Traditionally during monsoon, women apply turmeric to their hands and feet to get glow to their skin. Once a week, the feet and hands are washed, patted dry and turmeric paste is applied. Doctors advice us that this helps avoid the growth of fungus between the toes and fingers.

Keep good health by taking an additional dose of Vitamin C in the form of lemon and fresh fruits to avoid infection in the upper respiratory tract. The monsoon humidity tends to form wax in the ears so clean those ears also more often. Following the below specified tips can keep your skin glowing and sparkling :

  1. Soak almonds overnight. Peel the brown skin and put under the fan till it is perfectly dry. Grind it and put on stove till a little oil oozes out. Add an equal amount of gram flour to this. Mix them well and grind again. Keep this paste in an air tight glass container and refrigerate. Use a quarter teaspoon of this paste mixed with tow teaspoons of milk to apply on the face. Let this stay for 15 minutes, as a daily ritual.
  2. Take the juice from an equal amount of tomato and cucumber – about three quarters of a teaspoon. Mix this with bone teaspoon of gram flour or sorghum and apply on the face. Keep for 15 minutes before washing it off.
  3. Make a paste of fresh turmeric power, neem leaves and almond with cucumber juice. Add gram flour or semolina and apply on the face. A paste of semolina with curd is good for removing those summer tans.
  4. Mix three teaspoons each of lime juice, honey and butter and apply on the face, neck, hands and feet once a week. Keep this for 20 minutes during which time you can complete your pranayama or a couple of yoga asanas, if you are into yoga.
  5. A wonderful daily scrub is made by powdering three cups of green gram with one cup of rice. Keep the container in the bath, and use instead of soap.

Do remember that the stomach plays an important role in the condition of your skin. To keep your skin glowing, give attention to your diet. During the monsoon, avoid eating green leafy vegetables as they harbour many  minutes insects. Do remember to drink plenty of water, and have fruits and keep your stomach free from constipation.
