Candy-Coated Killers

You wont believe this one.

Sugar, spice and everything nice.  It sells for about 80 cents to a dollar, and you can get it at places like Wal-Mart, Corner stores, or even at your own house.  And the best part is: ITS TOTALLY LEGAL.  Well before you get too excited let me just tell you its the newest drug out on the streets.  Yes folks, incase you haven’t guessed yet, the newest drug trend is actually smoking/snorting candy.

I just find it so funny how people can turn even the most innocent thing, that most of us grew up with into something malicious.  Candy was meant for children (or even some adults) to enjoy as a “sweet treat” and nothing more.  I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure the people down at these candy factories did not intend for their product to be used as a drug.  We already have too many addicts in the world anyway, seriously what’s next a “sweetarts-snorting addict” or something?  Am I the only one who thinks there is something wrong here?  Just imagine drug dealers, who usually sell things like Marijuana or Crack/Cocaine selling candy for people to snort and smoke.  If drugs in general aren’t right then this is just ridiculous. Not to mention that candy isn’t all that great for you in the first place, what happens when people get addicted and start overdosing on this stuff?  It can do just as much damage to your body as the other drugs do.

This is just going to further promote drug usage in children.  Seeing that candy was for kids in the first place, using this as a drug is just going to make drugs more widely available for young children to start using early.  Which will therefore increase the amount of drug abusers in the world and eventually they will have to ban certain types of candies too.  So basically if a little kid wants to get his favorite candy at wal-mart and that candy just happens to be something like smarties or sweetarts, they wouldn’t be able to buy it because of all the morons who decided to be funny and use those candies for smoking and snorting.  Then that little kid will have to find a new favorite candy that they haven’t used as a drug- yet.  And by yet I ask you, what is next??  Are people going to use mints or mentos and start smoking those too?  Will they get high off of jolly ranchers or warheads?

Besides the fact that people have managed to turn candy into a drug, doesn’t this say something about society today?  Dose this not further prove how the media and people in general want kids to grow up too fast these days?  Lets face it- there are plenty of drugs in the world for you to use it you really want to get high that badly (although we’d all rather you didn’t) but candy definitely should not be one of them.  Mainly because candy is for KIDS, and drugs are definitely not.

  1. we do have a tendency as a species to corrupt everything we touch eventually. and it is sad. well written once again.

  2. well crafted

  3. This is good information for parents to know. They may warn their children about drugs but not about someone offering candy, which children perceive as safe in most cases.
