The drug can have a positive and negative effect. If you have ADHD or ADD, you need to see if the drug has a More: Positive or a more Negative effect.

Two points. Firstly we are all different and respond to medication differently. What works for one person can be devestating for another person. Same drug same dose different outcomes.
Second point is that ADHD drugs work only for a few hours and then it’s withdrawal time. For a short time as a crutch to help learn strategies is OK, but to rely on them is avoiding taking action oneself.
I have ADHD and had to learn coping strategies and skills on my own as the term hadn’t been invented way back when I went to school. I survived without drugs.
