Natural Alternatives for ADD & ADHD

Treating children with ADD & ADHD with suppliments and change of eating habits.

For many years now Doctors have been treating children for ADD and ADHD. They’ve been using meds to treat something that can that can easily treated with some simple changes in eating habit’s a few supplements and herbs.

Studies have shown that boys diagnosed with ADD/ADHD are deficient in Omega-3 oils, fatty acids that nourish the brain and nervous system. It is recommended that a dose of 3,000mg a day of Omega-3 will help improve the symptoms of ADD and ADHD. You can also add 100mga day of B-complex vitamins to nourish the nervous system and 100mg B6 a day essential for the synthesis of serotonin. Also a good multivitamin should be added for proper brain function. These things can help some of the symptoms along with decreasing sugar intake and avoiding red dies. Some studies have shown that red dies have increase hyperactivity in children and is worse in children with ADHD. You should also add more fiber to your child’s eating habits as well.

To help calm these children with ADHD it is also recommended that a calcium and magnesium complex can relax the nervous system. A 500mg of calcium and 250mg of magnesium taken a day is best. Kava kava has been used to balance the nervous system try taking 300mg a day.

For a relaxing tea try combining equal parts of passionflower, chamomile, catnip, lemon balm. Take one tablespoon of mixture to make a tea. You can sweeten with a little honey.

These suggestions are safe but you should always do your own research and talk to someone who specializes in this field.

  4. ADHD aand ADD involve much more than hyperactivity, and no amount of dietary changes will have any effect on them.

  6. My daughter was diagnosed 4 years ago with ADD, I was told only drugs could help her.I have never drugged my child, instead we
    changed her diet,enrolled her in multiple sports,meditation and massages.She is now a straight A student and competes in gymnastics.drugging our children is not the answer.

  7. Thats great! I dont tell my clients not to go to the doctors I just give them other opptions. I hope people understand that there are some doctors turning to Natural Therapies.
