Seizure Child
A child’s life with seizures.
You don’t think about seizures till the day your child is diagnosed with seizures. A seizure is always scary to think about. The baby will shake and the eyes will roll back. When a child has seizures, its hard on them and hard on the family sometimes. So when my daughter was one in a half months of age her left leg shook while she was dressed. At two months of age she was sent to a seizure doctor and was hospitalized for three days. After two EEGS and a MRI, then she had a spinal tap that proved that she couldn’t give spinal fluid.
She was diagnosed with left and partial seizures. Such a scary phrase to hear that your child has seizures. What will life be like for her, doctors started her on medicine that made her sleep more. That made me worry to see her sleep more. When your child has seizures you don’t let them go to many places often in fear of what may happen when you are away.
School year comes and you learn to let go and hope the school knows what to do just in case of a seizure. When your child has seizures there life changes as they grow. They depend on medicine everyday to control seizure. She will grow up facing the challenges of every day life and controlling her seizure, till the day she grows out grows them. Even if a child don’t have seizure, it is good to know how to handle to a seizure. There is a wrong way and a right way. Its best to learn if you to deal with seizures.
