What are Your Kids Eating?

Are your kids healthy? Are they eating right? How to make your kids have a healthy future?

So many kids these days aren’t eating right and setting bad eating habits that they will stay with them for the rest of their life. Let me ask you one question, are you contributing to these bad habits? If yes, think about what you can do to change and make them better prepared to develop a healthier future. It is never always your fault though, do the schools have snack machines with healthy food?

Schools these days have sold your children’s health out to the highest bidder. Is this really acceptable? Kids don’t have much of a choice these days. Schools, sure they have a regular school lunch line, but in fact the foods found here, themselves aren’t usually that healthy to begin with and aren’t the most abundant of lunch choices schools have to offer. They have snacks machines full of junk, carbonated sodas, and another lunch line that sells things like greasy pizza, and things you would find in fast food restaurants, as well as an extended variatey of awful snacks you find in the vending machines.

Do you really think if you gave your child the choice between eating pizza everyday and a balanced meal with vegetables, they would make the right choice? So why does the school think it is ok to control your children in every other aspect of their lives at school, but ok to let them choose what they eat? Remember now that your tax money is going to these schools so they can rip of your children’s health for a quick profit.

To be healthy you need a balanced diet. Try to work with your kids to reduce the amount of junk food they consume. Also one excellent way to combat the evils of school dieting choices is to pack your kids lunch for them. This way you can make sure their lunch is healthy for them. At home make them more meals at home with good nutrition and take them out to fast food less.

America’s health is steadily falling, and these health habits start early. So the best you can do now for the future, is take care of your own health, and set your children up for better health by example and some light nudging in the right direction.

  1. Good points.You have to start teaching them the proper way to eat very young, before they are away from you.My kids think nothing of making a salad for a snack in the evening. Its nice to see when I know what they could be eating.

  2. there are a few points that should also be made.
    1. offer water or low sugar juice this way they prefer water over soda
    2. stop forcing large portions on children and expecting them to finish! their stomachs are much smaller then yours. i have always had a problem with portion control due to my parents forcing me to eat the whole plate of food that they served to me.
    3. the simple action of offering carrot sticks instead of chips or cheese doodles is the best thing you can do for a child and the eating habits of their future
