Stinging Nettle

The leaves and stems of Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), has a long tradition of use in the treatment of joint pains and for osteoarthritis. Nettle leaf extract contains active compounds that reduce TNF-α and other inflammatory cytokines. Applying nettle leaf topically to the painful area aids in relieving joint pains.
Boswellia

Boswellia Serrata or Indian frankincense, has been historically used in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis of the knee and aids in easing inflammation. The plant’s gum (guggulu) contains natural anti-inflammatory agents called boswellic acids. Dried extracts of the gum resin, when applied topically to affected area reduces inflammation by blocking off pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Black Cohosh

Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa), is a herbaceous perennial plant native to eastern North America. Native Americans have long been using roots and rhizomes of these plants for rheumatism, kidney disorders, fever, colds and backaches. Studies have shown that the plant possess analgesic, sedative, and anti-inflammatory properties. Today, extracts of Black Cohosh is used as alternative medicine to treat rheumatism and to promote menstruation. CAUTION: Large doses can cause poisoning.
White Willow

White Willow (Salix alba), is a medium-size to large deciduous tree native to Europe and central and western Asia. Willow bark has long been used in Europe and China for reducing fever and inflammation and pain caused by arthritis. A natural aspirin, the inner bark of the tree contains salicin, which is then transformed to salicylic acid in the body. Studies have shown that bark extracts, when taken orally lasts longer than aspirin, and has less side gastronomic side effects.
