A Universal Solution to Globesity

Obesity is now a global problem. This new term recognises that obesity is now a global problem. Obesity now needs a global solution. Here is a solution which is easily understood, does not cost a pretty penny and can be understood by the deaf, dumb and blind. Above all it is free, really free! No diets, no books, no gym equipment to buy. I know that many readers will find it hard to belief this. I hope you are skeptical enough to read this article and circulate to the rest of the world, It is really, honestly free. There are no hidden royalties.

Obesity is a very recent global problem on the geographical clock. Until now a global solution has eluded humanity because obesity was not seen as a problem. Obesity was not seen as a problem because the fat people never complained because they had plenty to eat and lived longer lives than thinner people. However, with the passage of time of the fat people have continued to get fatter and have now started die off like flies. However, the thin people too are getting fatter. Now thin people have become of average weight. However, now the deaths of fat/obese people are a concern because too many fat people are dying younger, sooner.  These early deaths are directly attributed to obesity, the same obesity which gave them the advantage of longevity. The term globesity is a new – It refers to the globe as a whole being full of obese people.

History: Due to a combination of circumstances mankind remained slim, fit, and hungry for many years. It is believed that Homo Sapiens evolved between about 400,000 years ago. Obesity was not known to be a problem in the good old days. The dominant view among scientists is the recent African origin of modern humans (RAO) that H. sapiens evolved in Africa and spread across the globe. Many readers envy the good old days and admire the simpler, slower, less productive, and low tech life style. As recently as 50 years ago a vast majority of people were slim, fit, and hungry. Upon reflection and without hesitation must clarify that there was never a state which was good and happy. Such utopia did not exist and is unlike to occur in the near or distant future. It is a well known fact that human beings have a selective memory; they tend to remember only the good times. Many will have forgotten that in those days famines were common in many population centres like India and China.

Some will go back a few thousand years and label those times as happy ones. In my opinion those supposedly good times were the days when the fittest survived, crops were not planted, and humans were hunter gatherers with limited access to food. Those who had access to food survived, others perished. A return to such circumstances cannot be imagined. However, a universal solution to obesity is needed and is long overdue.

  1. Very few people in Triond will be able to write such a descriptive, well informed and researched article. Well done.

  2. Thank you for your very nice comments. I see the problem of obesity as one that has been created by man and his preoccupation with food. Too many of us live to eat. We should be eating to live. If we did this we will live longer. Over eating is killing us.
