Alzheimer a Silent War
You don’t have to wait the first symptoms to begin working against Alzheimer and doesn’t matter how young you are.
Alzheimer is a degenerative, incurable and terminal disease generally diagnosed in people over 65 years old is the most common form of dementia. The first symptoms can be confused with age-related problems like lost of memory, distraction, inability of recalling recent facts and stress manifestations.
As Alzheimer advances, the most common symptoms are confusion, irritability and aggression, mood swings, language break down, long term memory loss, gradual declining of senses and body functions.
But you don’t have to begin with the first symptoms to start fighting this silent war, there are some easy exercises that can help you avoid Alzheimer, like aerobics for your body there are Neurobics for your brain. Neurobics are mental exercises, brain teasers and puzzles that enhance brain’s performances encouraging the growth of new dendrites and neurons. The challenge of Neurobics is doing everything contrary to routine.
Some basic and easy to do exercises that you can practice every day:
- Avoid routine. The 80% of our day is a routine, even if they reduce the daily work and intellectual efforts they are hiding a perturbing effect: they are limiting your brain.
- When you brush your teeth, change the usual hand to the other.
- When you take a bath, lather with your other hand.
- Use your hand watch on the other hand.
- Get dressed with your eyes closed.
- Write the other way around (this used to make Leonardo Da Vinci)
- Walk backwards.
- See pictures or read upside down.
- Change your paths to go to work and go back home.
- Change the use of the mouse from right to left or vice versa.
Remember anything that takes you away from routine will help you, your brain will thank you. Fight against Alzheimer!
