Benefits of Watermelon



Watermelon is the easily available fruit in nature having abundant benefits. 

The fruit is widely available in Africa mainly. However, the fruit is also available in Texas, Florida,etc. in USA too. 

Benefits of watermelon are innumerable. Some of them are :

•           These are the best items to eat during the summer.

•           Eventhough watermelon contains 90 percent of water, it has over 20 vitamins. They are Magnesium, Iron, Vitamin B6, Thiamine, Niacin, Vitamin C, Calcium, Vitamin A, etc. it also contains old fibre. These help you to improve your immune system.

•           The watermelon contains ‘Lycopene’, an antioxidant’ which helps you in preventing the health problems like heart attacks, strokes, etc. It is proved that watermelon is the only fruit or vegetable which contains lycopene in higher concentrations. 

•           It is an ideal food for diabetes patients too. 

•           Water in watermelon will help your kidneys to work more efficiently. 

•           As it has too less number of calories, it can be termed as an ideal food for those who are suffering from obesity.

•           A watermelon contains two grams of protein, 22 grams of carbohydrates, five percent of fiber and others which helps you to loss your weight.           

•           Some of the matter in the fruit will help you to recover from different types of cancer. 

So, will you prefer to have watermelon than having dirty drinks during summer?
