Cancer
My experiences with cancer in my family.
Cancer is something that I know well. Three of my grandparents died of cancer within a year and a half of each other. I remember how hard they fought to stay alive. My grandmother died in her sleep a few days after she had come home from the hospital, at that time my grandfather her husband had been told his cancer had come out of remission and now was terminal brain cancer. At my Grandma’s funeral my mother found out that her father,my grandfather was dying of cancer.
Why does this happen to people? I mean why can’t you just die when their time is up like a parking meter? Cancer strikes everyone even infants. This disease has affected my family so many times, but has never stayed in remission for longer than a few months. I often worry as a mother that I will meet the same fate as my grandparents. They say cancer can be genetic so I decided to buy organic foods for my baby as much as I can. Cancer kills the patient in your family but it also haunts you for the rest of your life because you will always ask yourself is today the day that cancer strikes me? Hopefully, there will be a cure for cancer in my lifetime.
