Chicken pox is contagious !
caustive agent agent – Varicella zoster virus ( VZV ) .
Transmission – through coughs or sneezes of ill individuals , or through direct contact . People with no immunition will catch it .
Symptoms – starts with a skin rash on the head and becomes itchy fever and runny nose .

Has an incubation period of 10 to 21 days . The most late complicated of chicken pox is shingles , caused by reactivation of VRV decades after the initial episode of chicken pox .
It has been observed in chimpanzees and gorillas .
