Coffee Consumption Reduces Breast Cancer Risk
A recent research by a group of researchers from Sweden has found that coffee consumption lowers the risk of breast cancer. Find out more about this research here…
Now there is one more reason for you to enjoy your cup of coffee apart from its taste; it has been found in a recent research that coffee consumption lowers the risk of breast cancer.
Statistics on breast cancer
- 1 in every 8 women in the United States has the risk of developing invasive breast cancer in their course of life.
- When compared with other types of cancer, the death rate in women due to breast cancer is higher.
- Apart from skin cancer, the more commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the US is breast cancer.
- The chance of breast cancer in women increases if any of her first-degree relatives were diagnosed of breast cancer.
Swedish research on breast cancer and coffee consumption

Researchers from Sweden have found that drinking coffee helps in reducing the risk of anti-estrogen-resistant estrogen-receptor-negative breast cancer. This research was conducted in nearly 5,000 women who were aged above 50 years and many of them even had breast cancer.
Researchers who were involved in this research were from Karolinska Institutet; the set of researchers include Jingmei Li, Petra Seibold, Jenny Chang-Claude, Dieter Flesch-Janys, Jianjun Liu, Kamila Czene, Keith Humphreys and Per Hall also took into consideration various other factors like menopause, lifestyle, weight, family history for breast cancer apart from drinking coffee.

Coffee consumption lowers breast cancer risk
The group of researchers said in a statement that it is evident that coffee reduces the risk of breast cancer, but they are not clear about the mechanism or compound that helps in reducing the breast cancer risk. They also said that not all types of coffee are helpful in lowering breast cancer risk in women.
Isn’t this great news for the women folk? Now I can sit and enjoy my coffee and say “Hey…I’m reducing my risk of breast cancer by drinking coffee.”

Hmm, this is great if this is true. I am just tired of so many research and studies saying having different opinions on the same topic. You can eat or drink this today and you can’t eat it tomorrow. Are you tired too? Thanks for the information, friend.

This is very interesting information. We seldom hear about benefits of coffee because its overconsumption can contribute to adrenal fatigue and thyroid autoimmunity via food cross-reactivity mechanism in susceptible individuals.

Interesting preliminary study, thanks for posting it.
I don’t drink coffee, so I’ll be interested in further research that identifies what the compound is that’s making a difference.
I’m wondering if this somehow relates to how niacin affects cells. I’m not sure why that crosses my mind, but something in the abstract (http://breast-cancer-research.com/content/13/3/R49) seems to resonate with niacin. (No, I can’t explain why it does. Maybe it’s just a “gut feeling.”)
The study suggests high consumption of coffee. I think they’re talking about 5+ cups per day.
For those of us who can’t even think about that level of caffeine in our diets, I hope they take this study to the next step… soon!

It is astonishing the problems that can be helped by diet and natural remedies. I suffered fibroid pain and was considering surgery. I have been following a natural treatment plan which involves cutting down on caffeine and my fibroids have shrunk. I am almost pain free. There are natural, dietary and holistic treatments for fibroids which can shrink them naturally.
Please see this website: http://www.fibroidpain.org
There is a link on the site to an ebook which is very well researched and gives information on shrinking fibroids naturally. I was sceptical at first but the advice has helped me and I also feel much healthier.
