Colon Cancer: Symptoms and Stages
Colon cancer consists of six stages.
Colon cancer is a fairly common type and there are many risk factors that contribute to this form of cancer. The most common symptoms of colon cancer are blood in your stool, stomach pain and lower back cramps, painful defecation and thin stools, and severe loss of weight.
It is essentially important to take note of is a history of bowel inflammation or history of long-standing bowel diseases.
The colon cancer consists of six stages they are:
Stage-0: The very early stage of colon cancer. The malignancy has not grown beyond the inner layer (mucosa) of your colon or rectum. This phase can also be referred to as carcinoma in-situ.
Stage-I: The cancer growth now extends through the mucous membrane. In this phase it has not extended beyond the colon or rectum wall.
Stage-II: The growth of cancer has gone into the wall of the rectum or colon. It has not yet spread to the lymph-nodes nearby.
Stage-III: The growth of cancer has extended to nearby lymph-nodes. It is not yet affected any other part of your body.
Stage-IV: The cancer has now spread to other region of the body. This might include organs most commonly the liver.
Recurrent stage: The cancer has returned back after treatment at this stage. From now on symptoms of colon cancer may recur in your rectum or colon.

Bowel system maintenance:
The best defense against cancer of colon is a healthy bowel system. There are many things you can do to maintain and achieve optimal bowel health. Consider beginning a colon cleanse program to maintain intestinal health.
Once you have cleansed, examine your diet. You should be consuming a low fat high fiber diet, and drinking a minimum of 6-8 glasses of water everyday. It is also essential to limit carbonated drinks and caffeine. Start exercising and quit smoking.
Colon cancer is devastating and incurable. You cannot get rid of inherited risk-factors, but you can eradicate the risk of inflammation of bowel and make lifestyle changes which minimize your chances of being diagnosed with colorectal-cancer.

Catching cancer early is very important. Especially, if it runs in your family. Getting a cancer screening is the way to go. Thanks for this. Some people just don’t want to believe that they too can get cancer, and there are also those who say they don’t want to know if they have it. My mom had breast cancer and is a survivor because she caught it early. She found it herself though. The mamograms didn’t. To me, it seems that a person knows their own body better than any machine or doctor. So, if you think for one minute that something is wrong… go and get checked. It could save your life. It saved my mother’s.
