A group of scientists genetically changed a version of the bird flu strain known as H5N1. Currently this new man-made flu strain is considered the most infectious of all flu strains found on earth. It is reported that it could be passed easily between humans and kill millions at a time. However, this will only happen if the virus is released from the lab which it is in.

According to Daily Mail, there are many in the research community who are outrage that such experiment was allowed to be carried out. Many see this research breakthrough as being immoral and unnecessary. The group of scientists who conducted this experiment is now pushing to publish their technique and results.

Certain countries are known to carry infectious diseases such as the small pox and the black plaque. Many are wondering if keeping and creating contagious diseases will lead to a bio-warfare in the future.
