Diabetes Cure
Type Two Diabetes Prevention And Possible Cure.
Type two diabetes: a chronic condition often accompanied by high blood glucose levels that can cause serious complications and even premature death.
About one and a half million people are diagnosed with type two diabetes in the United States every year. That is more than 4,000 new cases diagnosed each day. But research has proven that shedding some weight by eating healthier and getting a little more exercise can delay and even prevent the onset of this devastating disease.
One great, fun, and easy way to get this valuable exercise is simply going for a daily walk. Walking just 4400 steps a day (2.2 miles) has proven to improve hemoglobin, reduce the risk of heart disease, and improve your cholesterol and triglyceride levels. All of which are very important for maintaining good health.
In a three year study completed in 2001, results showed that reducing fat and calories, increasing physical activity to 150 minutes per week, (21 and 1/2 minutes a day) along with consulting with your doctor reduced the risk for diabetes by 58% ! I don’t think there is any drug which can claim such results.
If you would like to read more about the studies you can find them at :

So next time you need something from the corner store, why not leave the car sit at home and walk instead. You can save a little fuel and possibly add some more healthy years to your life.
And if they will go, take family members along, the exercise is good for them, too.

Now, for those of us who have trouble walking or can’t walk that far, there are alternatives. Swimming is a great one if you have access to a pool. Swimming offers the cardio benefits of running, like maintaining proper blood reassure, exercises your lungs and heart, and it helps maintain flexibility in your arms and legs. The health benefits of swimming are nearly limitless. So, if you’re like me and can’t do all that walking but have a place to swim, then there’s no better time than now to show off your best swim wear !

Also, there are exercise machines which allow you to use your upper body. They are available in many different models and styles. I have one of these and I can personally attest to the difference it has made for me by using it just 30 minutes a day. I feel better physically and mentally, and somehow, looking in my mirror seems to be getting a little easier ’cause the pounds are slowly but surely disappearing !

The picture isn’t the best, but this is the machine I use. I have it placed where
I can watch TV while I exercise.

Very interesting and well written article Phil. I have a lot of physical work and enjoy walking.
It is a shame that many obese people do not look after themselves with a well balanced diet as well as exercise to counteract the calories they have eaten.
Bets wishes
Tim
