Diabetes, its causes, and simple ways to control and get rid of it.
When spleen stops producing insulin according to the needs of human body or human tissues prevents the production of insulin, then one suffers from diabetes.
Insulin is a hormone which converts glucose to energy to perform body functions. Insulin helps to store the excessive amount of sugar in cells of different parts of the body like muscles and liver. According to the International Diabetes Federation, there are more then millions of diabetes patients around the globe and the number is increasing at immense pace. While in a developed country like America, there are more then 20 million patients of diabetes. Medical experts say that if this disease increases with the same rate in America then in 2005 there will 40 million patients in the whole country.

The only way to stop diabetes is to control it. In the body when insulin level drops or is not working properly, then sugar level increases in human blood and blood cells doesn’t get enough energy according to their need.
If this situation continues for a long time then it may cause some other malfunctions of eyes, heart, blood veins, arteries and kidney. So to live a healthy life you have to adopt a very careful life style to avoid the Type 2 diabetes. It is very important to know that whether adult and children are suffering from Type 2 or not because too much eating is a cause of inviting lots of diseases. The children who have the habit of too much eating have more chances of diabetes.
What is Diabetes Type-II ?
When human body fails to receive the required amount of insulin it becomes difficult for its blood cells to absorb glucose. This phenomenon is called “insulin resistance“.

In initial stages, blood sugar level rises at a very slow rate and one never realizes what is going to happen with one in future. One third of the world’s population doesn’t realize that they are suffering from a fatal disease like diabetes. Too much thirst or hunger, too much urination then usual, loss in weight without any exercise, feeling tired or anger, infection in jaws and urinary bladder, high blood pressure and slow healing of wounds are the symptoms of Diabetes, Type-II. It has been observed that people are not aware of their disease unless they suffer from another disease like low eye sight, kidney malfunction and nervous system malfunction.

When the doctor realizes that one is suffering from diabetes, he advises one to conduct tests, immediately after checking family history. To detect sugar level blood glucose test is conducted. This test is also called “Blood Test” which informs about the sugar level in blood. This test is conducted in the morning before eating or drinking.

Treatment of Type-II greatly involves healthy food. Exercise daily can also help to bring down sugar level, while taking medicines according to the prescription and regular blood test is also very important. It is important for the patient to get oneself examined by the doctor to know whether he is suffering from some other disease or not. A very important thing to keep in view is that if you are at the initial stage of diabetes then with regular exercises, medical treatment and healthy food can help you to stop this disease to reach to a dangerous stage. If you are over-weight then its better to control your weight too, because it helps to save you from the complexities of diabetes.
How to control blood sugar
The most important factor in bringing down sugar level is the patient oneself. To control sugar level patient must not loose hope and must have believe that one is going to be fine and start one’s normal life again. The following things should also be kept in mind and may help to reduce sugar level:
- Balanced diet is the best way to control blood sugar level. Carbohydrates as compared to other nutrients in diet greatly effects sugar level. Diabetes patient should be aware of the amount of carbohydrates one needs in one’s diet to avoid rise in sugar level.
- The diabetes patient should do regular exercise. 30 minutes of exercises, at least, helps to control sugar level because during this glucose is utilized by the body in the form of energy. It also helps to control high cholesterol level and to control over weight.
- The patient should take insulin according to doctor’s prescription.
- Get a regular blood sugar level check-up
- The blood sugar level may vary even after acting upon doctor’s advice and prescription. It is very important to know the symptoms of blood sugar level increase or decrease.
High sugar level or hyper-glycemia may happen within a few days or so. Its symptoms include feeling more thirst, more urination, hunger and low sightedness. People who are not the patients of diabetes but they are also not following a balanced life style have a great tendency of getting diabetes.
Low blood sugar level or hyper-glycemia occurs suddenly and its symptoms are too much sweating, feeling of tiredness or weakness or hunger. Drop in sugar level is a normal phenomenon. If sugar level drops take a spoon of sugar or a half glass of orange juice, besides this carbohydrates may also be taken. Check sugar level after 15 minutes, during this if there is some kind of pain in any part of the body or a body part is paralyzed then immediately contact doctor because these may be the symptoms of another disease beginning in your body.
One can save himself from a lot of complexities by keeping sugar level low. It is necessary to cure if one is suffering from this serious disease. Smokers suffering form diabetes should immediately get rid of smoking.
According to a research it has been found that smoking increases the chances of other diseases due to diabetes. It is said about the patients of diabetes that their chances of dying with heart attack or blood pressure increase considerably. Sugar patients should also see their dentists in every three to six months because sugar causes some tooth malfunctions.
Diabetes is considered to be a “quiet killer” in medical circle and is the mother of all diseases. It is said by doctors that the more you get acquainted about this disease the more you have chances to control it.
