Diet and Breast Cancer
Multimillions have been spent seeking drugs to help fight breast cancer. But, seemingly, it would take several long years before the appropriate drug be available. Women has to resorted to changing dietary habits and healthy eating habits….
Breast cancer has always been one of the greatest fears of women today. But early detection is one part of an effective cancer protection plan. Prevention is the other.
Research and studies have been launched to evaluate preventive measures, but it would probably take over roughly ten years. Knowing this, could women still wait?
Aside from regular breast exams and mammography to detect early cancers, women turn to changes in dietary habits and healthier lifestyles now. International comparisons show that countries who consumed the most fat such as the United States, have higher breast cancer rates than countries at low fat diets such as Japan.
Natural estrogen is often related to breast cancer. Reducing fats and increasing fiber in the diet causes estrogen levels in the blood to decrease. Fat intake could affect the concentration of estrogen produced in the body.
Fiber has the potential to enhance breast protection. It binds to the estrogen and carry it from the colon out of the body, in the feces. There are a variety of foods to choose from like whole grains, legumes, fruit and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are rich in Beta carotene and Vitamin C. Supplementation for these important nutrients are available in the market and has recently been on top selling.
To say the least, prevention is always better than cure. Eating right and living a healthy lifestyle is the key to prevent dreadful diseases like breast cancer.
