General weakness often occurs after an intense activity, such as usually after a sustained physical effort (eg, a mountain hike). The sensation may be fatigue or weakness or muscle soreness. They dipar after a few days.
In rare cases, generalized muscle weakness may be caused by other conditions such as:
- hypothyroidism - cause fatigue, weakness, lethargy, weight gain, depression , memory problems, constipation, dry skin, cold intolerance, thinning hair and brittle nails
- Hyperthyroidism – cause fatigue, muscle weakness, weight loss, tachycardia, heat intolerance, sweating, irritability, anxiety and increase in size of thyroid gland
- Guillain-Barre syndrome – a rare neurological disorder that causes weakness in the legs, arms and other muscles and can even lead to paralysis
- Myasthenia gravis – a rare chronic illness, which causes weakness and rapid muscle fatigue
- Diselectrolitemii (disorders of serum levels of electrolytes), such as hypokalemia or hiposodemie.

Muscle weakness that slowly gets worse require specialized medical attention.
Sudden muscle weakness with functional impotence of a certain region of the body indicates a severe brain disorder such as stroke or transient ischemic attack or a disease of the spinal cord or certain nerve.

Fatigue is to feel the fatigue, exhaustion and lack of energy. Mild fatigue may occur due to excessive activity, insufficient sleep, worry, boredom or lack of regular physical exercise program.
Any illness such as colds or flu , can cause fatigue, which usually disappears once the disease is cured. In most cases, mild fatigue that accompanies the disease can be cured with treatment at home, without having to consult with a physician.

Fatigue that lasts more than two weeks also require specialized medical investigations. This type of fatigue may be caused by more serious medical problems such as:
- anemia - decrease the amount of hemoglobin , which is the “carrier” oxygen
- Heart disease – such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction or heart failure, limiting the supply of oxygen to the heart muscle or other organ metabolic disorders – such as diabetes mellitus , in which sugar (glucose) remains in the bloodstream instead enter in cells to serve as an energy source
- Thyroid disease – hypo and hyperthyroidism
- Kidney or liver disease – cause fatigue when the concentration of certain substances reach toxic levels
- Sleep disorders - insomnia , obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy
- Allergies – allergic rhinitis, asthma
- Infections that require a long period of convalescence – bacterial endocarditis (infection of the heart muscle or heart valves), parasites, HIV,tuberculosis and mononucleosis
- Addison’s disease
- anorexia and other eating tulbuari nerve
- Arthritis - rheumatoid arthritis , juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (which affects children and adolescents)
- Autoimmune diseases - systemic lupus
- Malnutrition
- Cancers
If fatigue occurs without an obvious cause, it is very important to assess mental health . Fatigue is a common symptom of psychiatric disorders such as anxiety or depression . Fatigue and depression may become so severe, so that patients consider suicide to end suffering.
